Indication
1. Relief of the following symptoms:
headache, menstrual cramps,toothache, pain after tooth extraction,sore throat, low back pain, joint pain,nerve pain, muscle pain, stiff and painful shoulders, earache, pain due to a bruise, post-fracture pain,pain due to sprain/injury
2. Treatment for fever and chills -
Dosage regimen
Take the following dose with water or warm water without chewing, preferably not on an empty stomach.
Adults (15 years and over): 1 tablet at a time, usually up to twice a day*, at intervals of 4 hours or longer
* If the symptoms recur, third dose may be taken. -
Ingredients / Quantity
Single dose (1 tablet) contains
Loxoprofen sodium hydrate ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ 68.1 mg
(60 mg as anhydride)
Additives: lactose hydrate, cellulose, povidone, partially pregelatinized starch, crospovidone, anhydrous silicic acid, magnesium stearate and red ferric oxide -
Characteristic
This non-steroidal medicine shows anti-inflammatory/analgesic/antipyretic effect by inhibiting synthesis of prostaglandin.

Important reference information
1. Do not take this medicine if:
(1) you have experienced allergic reactions to the medicine or any of its ingredients before,
(2) you have a history of asthma after taking the medicine or other antipyretic analgesics/cold remedies,
(3) you are under 15 years old,
(4) you are under medical treatment for the following diseases:
- gastroduodenal ulcer, liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease
(5) you have been told to have blood disorder:
- low red blood cell count (anemia)
- low platelet count (bleeding tendency)
- low white blood cell count
(6) you are in the last 12 weeks of pregnancy.
2. Do not take any of the following medicines while taking this medicine:
- other antipyretic analgesics
- cold remedies
- sedatives
3. Do not drink alcohol while taking the medicine.
4. Do not take the medicine continuously for a long period of time.
5. Consult your doctor, dentist or pharmacist before starting the medication if:
(1) you are under medical/dental treatment,
(2) you are pregnant or possibly pregnant,
(3) you are breastfeeding,
(4) you are elderly,
(5) you have had allergic reactions to any medicine before,
(6) you have been diagnosed with the following diseases:
- asthma
- ulcerative colitis
- Crohn's disease
- systemic erythematosus
- mixed connective tissue disease
(7) you have a history of the following diseases:
- gastroduodenal ulcer
- liver disease
- kidney disease
- blood disease
6. Discontinue the medication immediately and consult your doctor or pharmacist showing the package insert if:
(1) excessive decrease in body temperature, collapse, cold hands and feet occur after taking the medicine.
(2) peptic ulcer or edema occur after taking the medicine. In rare cases, significant symptoms such as gastrointestinal bleeding/perforation may occur. In such case, seek medical care immediately.
(3) the following symptoms occur.
- skin rash, redness, itching
- abdominal pains, stomach discomfort, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating, heartburn, canker sore, poor digestion
- increase in blood pressure, palpitation
- drowsiness, numbness, dizziness, headache
- chest pain, malaise, flush, fever, anemia, bloody urine
In rare cases, significant symptoms listed below may occur. In such case, seek medical care immediately.
・Shock (Anaphylaxis) ・・・・・ itching of skin, hives, hoarse voice, sneezing, itchy throat, difficulty breathing, palpitation, deteriorating consciousness occur immediately after taking the medicine.
・Blood disorder ・・・・・ sore throat, fever, general malaise, whitish face/inner eyelids, bleeding tendency (gum, nose) , bruise (which does not disappear under pressure), etc.
・Oculomucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)/Toxic epidermal necrosis ・・・・・ high fever, eye redness, eye discharge, lip erosion, sore throat, wide spread rash or redness persist, or worsen acutely.
・Renal disorder ・・・・・ fever, rash, decreased urine output, generalized edema, general malaise, joint pain and diarrhea, etc.
・Congestive heart failure ・・・・・ fever, rash, decreased urine output, generalized edema, general malaise, joint pain and diarrhea, etc.
・Interstitial pneumonia ・・・・・shortness of breath on exertion, dry cough or fever occur suddenly or persist.
・Hepatic dysfunction ・・・・・ fever, itching, rash, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or the white of the eye), brown urine, general malaise loss of appetite, etc.
・Rhabdomyolysis ・・・・・ muscle pain (limbs, shoulders, low back etc.), numbness/weakness/stiffness of limbs, general malaise and red brown urine, etc.
・Aseptic meningitis ・・・・・ severe headache with stiff neck, fever, nausea and vomiting etc. (mostly seen in patients receiving treatment for systemic erythematosus or mixed connective tissue disease)
・Asthma ・・・・・ wheezing and crowing sound when breathing, shortness of breath, etc.
7. Dry mouth, constipation or diarrhea may occur. If any of these persist or worsen, discontinue the medication and consult your doctor or pharmacist, showing the package insert.
8. If no improvement is seen after 1 to 2 doses (you may have another disease), discontinue the medication and consult your doctor, dentist or pharmacist, showing the package insert. -
