Characteristic
1. This product is a relatively mild laxative which stimulates the colon to promote intestinal peristalsis.
2. It mainly consists of "Daiokanzoto Extract" (Kampo formula with rhubarb and licorice), which has been widely used for treatment of constipation since long time ago.
3. It is recommended for first-time laxative users, those who have relatively mild constipation and elderly people with weak digestion.
4. Since the active component "sennoside A" is activated by intestinal bacteria, concomitant use of medicines which reduce intestinal bacteria (e.g. antibiotics) should be avoided.
5. Constipation is often caused by weakened intestinal peristalsis due to stress or fatigue. It is recommended to take the medicine together with vitamin B1 to increase peristalsis. -
